Join us for the third session of our three-part planned giving “boot camp” series. Although the series is primarily designed to introduce the concepts of planned giving to development professionals, executive directors, board members and others who are either new to planned giving or who are interested in starting a planned giving program, it will appeal to experienced planned giving professionals as well. Presented in three parts over February, March and April, these sessions feature seasoned planned giving experts sharing their practical knowledge and expertise. The session format includes Q&A.

Planned Giving Techniques Made Easy (or at Least Easier)
Kent G. LeVan, CPA, MBA
Executive Director of Planned Giving
Saint Louis University

You have learned about making space for planned giving in your organization. You have learned about the why, the who and the how of planned giving. You have even learned about implementing the best practices when implementing a new planned giving program. Now dive into the planned giving techniques themselves. What are the most common planned gifts and how do they work? How do I promote these gifts on an individual basis and on a broader basis? How do I talk to donors about planned gifts? How do I administer planned gifts once they have been received? Hear answers to these questions and take advantage of the opportunity to ask other questions you might have about planned giving during the final session of boot camp.

Kent LeVan has worked in the field of planned giving for over twenty-five years and currently serves as the Executive Director of Planned Giving at Saint Louis University. During this time, the Office of Planned Giving received the Saint Louis Legacy Award from the Saint Louis Planned Giving Council. Kent received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in business from Saint Louis University and his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant. He has twice served on the board of the Saint Louis Planned Giving Council and served as Council President from 2015 to 2016.

This session has been approved for 2.0 CFRE Continuing Education Points and 2.4 CLE credit hours from The Missouri Bar.
